Connection Pointe High School Ministry

We believe in living life to the fullest and being authentic in what we say and do ... just like Jesus. The Connection Pointe High School Ministry is a safe place to hang out and talk about things that really matter in life -- faith, relationships, integrity and living the bold life that Jesus modeled for us. Come check us out!

Purpose

Assist High School students in prioritizing their relationship with Jesus, influencing their friends and experiencing personal ministry.

Goals

By using relevant and intentional environments we hope to:

1.  Challenge the teenage mindset with God's perspective.
2.  Provide a comfortable place for students to connect.
3.  Teach students to "eXperience 3."
4.  Encourage every student to join a small group.
5.  Provide areas of service for students.

High School Ministry Special Events

We offer many special events during the year that are not only fun but life changing! These events include retreats, summer camps, coffee houses & concerts. Check out the links below to see what's coming up.

  • Big Stuf could very well be the best week of your life. We’re not joking! You’ll spend one whole week on the beach playing ultimate frisbee, volleyball and boogie boarding, but most of all, encountering God through worship, dynamic speaking and other really cool stuff! Click for details.

  • Brookside After School Project is a fun and interactive way to serve and love others by tutoring and mentoring elementary age children. It is recommended that only students who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and attitude participate. Sign up here.

  • Momentum is the outreach environment of the High School Ministry that happens 4 times during the school year on Friday or Saturday, with the purpose of providing a fun and relevant place for students to bring their friends. Details.

  • Elevate Winter Retreat: Elevate 2012 was nothing short of amazing! By the end of the weekend, over 200 students discovered that in the midst of a dark world, Jesus is the light that illuminates their life and calls them to be light! To read all about it, check out the student blog ... here

  • Merge Weekend is designed for middle school and high school school students to connect with their small group. During Merge Weekend each small group spends a night in a local host home and comes to the church for an action packed, sugar high program that includes, games, music, teaching, service projects and of course small group time. It’s always our biggest event and students love to bring their friends. Details here.

Why is there Sunday morning programming for students?

  • Convenient for families
  • Consistent student participation
  • Easy for students to get and stay connected
  • More students attend on Sunday

Why is there a small group focus?

  • Easier to meet people in a large church
  • Helps enforce concept and importance of small groups in the student mind
  • Helps students stay connected routinely
  • Consistent leaders each week for the students
  • Leader serves as another "voice" for the family
  • Stays consistent with church's focus on small groups

What's the best way for my student to get/stay connected?

Join a small group.

  • Middle School small groups meet during Crave at 10 or 11:30 am in the Gym Loft.
  • High School small groups meet during Focus at 10 or 11:30 am in the Gym.

Once the student has joined, it's important for the student to attend the same hour each week to meet with the same students and same leader. This helps build community with the other students and trust in the leader.

Is joining a small group hard?

Not at all! Joining a student small group is very easy. It's as easy as filling out a small group profile sheet, which is done at On Deck or by picking up the form at the Small Group Kiosk in the Lobby.

What is On Deck?

  • A group that...
    • gives new students a chance to join a group.
    • explains why we do small groups.
    • provides place for students whose small group leader is absent.
    • meets at the end of Crave and Focus services.

What's the best way for me to stay informed?

  • Subscribe to Student Blog ... here.
  • Subscribe to CPCC Enews.
  • Stay in contact with student's small group leader.
  • Visit Small Groups Kiosk.
  • Read weekend program.
  • Give us a call @ 317.852.2221.
  • Send us an email @ students@cpccweb.org.

So You Want To Get Baptized

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are ready to be baptized! The Bible teaches that baptism demonstrates we have received God's grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin and confessing Christ. Just like a bride and groom demonstrate their shared love for one another by wearing wedding bands, your baptism is your opportunity to show others that you have accepted Christ and have a relationship with Him.

It is not only a symbol that you are committed to Christ, but it also represents the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Those who have been baptized in a form other than total immersion, such as christening or dedication, are immersed to become members of Connection Pointe.

To find out what other students think, watch student baptism video.
